Ryland's Room

I'll start the house posts with Ryland. When he moved to a "big boy bed" when he turned 2 we decorated the room in baseball. His aunt Lesa loves baseball and is always buying him baseball stuff. So we had plenty for decor. Ryland does enjoy baseball and is learning to throw and bat quite well. The 4 pennants on the wall do have meaning - the 2 Texas teams (Rangers and Astros), Atlanta Braves for Lesa (her favorite team), and the Anaheim Angels (they won the World Series the year Ryland was born).

Notice the baseball lights on the window.

That big blue chair came from Leland's high school theater teacher. It survived the LCU dorm fire and continues to be one of our favorite pieces of furniture.

You may have wondered what the red lines were on the walls. I decided to paint random baseball stitches around the room. Ryland and I really like it. Leland says it looks like an indian attacked. :)

Very cool! I like the stitches--it turned out cute. I wasn't really sure what you meant when you told me your idea, so I'm glad to see it actually done :)

Another idea...paint stitches on the top of his trash can lid. I have a red paint pen (that might work better than acrylic paint that could chip off), if I can remember I'll bring it with me tomorrow!!
