Other Random MVCC & On the Way Home

We took a couple of excursions during camp. One of our good friends from Big Spring was one of my helpers in the kitchen. She had her 3 granddaughters there as campers. One day after lunch Raylee and I took them up to the lookout. It is always so pretty up there. The ladybugs are the most amazing - they are everywhere.

Those orangish things are all ladybugs.

On the way back to camp we came across a herd of elk. It was awesome seeing them so close up.

We also went to the Flying J again this time with several of the teachers and cooks. We had a great time again. Just love that place.

Our crew was so tired by the end of the week. They crashed on our way to Artesia.

We spent one night with Leland's parents before coming on home. Always good to see them again.

Picnic in the nice evening weather.

Ryland got a lesson in lawn mower driving.

Let the races begin.

Mountain View Christian Camp 2010

My baby was a camper this year. I can't believe he's old enough now. He had a great time. His only complaint was that you don't ever get a break and you don't ever get to sleep. He had a great time.

Every time Leland would get on stage, the girls immediately followed. They loved showing off.

Ryland and his favorite buddy got their cabin award together - Two Peas in a Pod. Very appropriate for these 2. They also won the championship for the Foosball tournament. Pretty good for 2 of the youngest campers.

Raylee and Reese with their pre-camper buddies. These 4 girls had so much fun together.

Aren't they cute?

Best Friends.

Before Mountain View Christian Camp 2010

We had another great year at camp this year. The girls had lots of fun with their 2 buddies and Ryland enjoyed being a camper for the first time. I had great help in the kitchen so we had lots of fun. Just another great year at camp.

We arrived to camp a few days early. We took one afternoon to visit the town of Lincoln. Lincoln is most famous for being the town where Billy the Kid escaped being locked up. They have several museums to tour which were very interesting. We ate at the hotel that Pat Garrett used to own. It was a very interesting and fun afternoon.

Tradition has that the we and the counselors go the Flying J Chuckwagon and Show. The kids love it. The food is good and the entertainment is so much fun.

Ryland's 8th Birthday

I'm a little slow at posting these, but these pictures are from Ryland's 8th birthday celebration. Since Leland was flying back home from Florida in the afternoon of Ryland's birthday, we decided to celebrate at Medieval Times this year. He had 1 friend that he wanted to bring so his buddy Zac came along. We had a good time. Ryland was knighted and they announced his birthday during the show. The food was great as always and the show was fun. Another successful birthday celebration.

Since we didn't have time to do presents before the show, we did them Sunday after church. The girls were excited for him to open the ones from him (a Perry the platypus - which they have claimed).

After naps, Ryland and his dad pulled his top tooth out. This is the first tooth we've pulled ourselves. The front bottom teeth had to be pulled by the dentist. Ryland did great. He was nervous since it was a new experience, but we got it out.

We then had our neighbors over for cake. Ryland requested oatmeal cake this year.

So my baby boy is now 8. He is getting so big. He is such a sweet kid. We enjoy him so much. Happy Birthday Ryland!
