We finally have internet at our house so I feel connected back with the world. I have so much to say. So much has happened in the last 3 weeks. I hate to bore everyone with all the details at once so I'm going to do several installments over the next week or so. So stay tuned.
This will be out of order but it is the most recent on our minds. Our beloved AJ passed away last Monday. AJ has been declining and showing the signs of aging over the past year. Each new addition to our family has been rough on him also. So with the decision of our move came the decision to send AJ to my in-laws to live out the rest of his days. He loves my father-in-law. AJ has spent several summers living with them while we worked at Mountain View Christian Camp. Every time we drove to Artesia with him he got the perk back in his eyes as soon as we crossed the city limits of Artesia. AJ was very happy there for the 3 weeks he lived there. Over the past weekend he suddenly declined and died in the night on Sunday.
AJ will be greatly missed. He was our child before children. Leland and I bought him at the Lubbock mall pet store 6 months after we were married. He went everywhere with us. Leland would bring him to the library while I was working there to show off his latest tricks to all the staff. He participated in several club functions including follies and pledge week. He traveled all over the place with us back then perched on top of the bench seat in my pickup. He was a great dog and friend. He was always good with the kids and very protective of us. He even tolerated it when Punkin joined our family. He used to sleep right next to me until I was pregnant with Ryland and couldn't handle the extra heat. AJ was a great dog and we will all miss him.

AJ was a great dog! I know he will be missed greatly. On a brighter note, I'm glad you're "back!" I've missed you.
So sorry to hear about AJ :( He was a great dog. We were kind of related through AJ you know, since he was Frank's dad, and Frank is our grandog.
Can't wait to hear more about your move and how you're all adjusting to your life in Mansfield.
BTW- I saw a Domestications catalog that had pirate bedding,etc.... just in case you're interested.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm so bad at updating that most people don't visit that often. But that's my fault!
Anyway, we hope you guys are enjoying Mansfield. We actually drove right past the Mansfield exit last weekend and we thought of you.
I can't believe that A.J. is gone. It's so hard to lose a pet, and he was a good one.
Love,
Beth Purcell
